Since its inception in 1909, Picnic Day has become the crown-jewel event of the UC system and the signature event of UC Davis.

The 50th Annual UC Davis Powwow is scheduled for Saturday, April 4, 2026.

The 1st Annual UC Davis Big Time will be held on Friday, April 3, 2026 at the University Credit Union Center, featuring California shake head dancers, Native vendors, and community resources. This cultural celebration is followed by the 50th Annual UC Davis Powwow on April 4, 2026. 

The Gorman Museum of Native American Art will be tabling at the 2026 Free Museum Weekend at the State Indian Museum in Sacramento on Saturday, March 7.  We will be sharing information about the museum, exhibitions, and upcoming events!  Stop by and visit.

The students in Music 198 will present a public performance of Raven Chacon's American Ledger no.1 as part of Chacon's residency at UC Davis in February 2026. The class will work collaboratively to decide the details of how we perform the piece. The second part of the

Join us for a reception and discussion with Charles Froelick about the work and life of Rick Bartow.  Charles Froelick is the owner of Froelick Gallery in Portland Oregon and will discuss his unique and longstanding professional and personal relationship with artist Rick Bartow.

The Whole Earth Festival began in 1969 as a small art class project ("Art Happening") on the UC Davis Quad. The students used art to teach visitors about the realms of activism, wellness, and environmental sustainability in an interactive and creative way.

The Julia Keefe Indigenous Big Band is an ensemble of Native and Indigenous jazz musicians, including Mali Obomsawin (Odanak Abenaki), Delbert Anderson (Diné) and Chantil Dukart (Tsimshian), led by celebrated vocalist and luminary Julia Keefe (Nez Perce).
