Visual Transparencies

Exhibit Length
-

The exhibition features works by 53 printmakers from around the world in response to the theme Visual Transparencies.  The end result is a strong voice and visual representation of artistic thought in a wide variety of printmaking techniques.

Visual Transparencies is a group of international printmakers who are known and respected in the field. The works are all responding to the theme of the portfolio in any manner the artists chose to respond. The end result is a strong voice that tells us what is on the mind of these artists from many different parts of the world and lets the viewer glimpse into the art process of printmaking from these artists. The collection is wide and demonstrates to the public that printmaking is alive and is an art form that lets artists collaborate and reach out across many countries. The works are tangible and an effective form of communication beyond email!                          -- Melanie Yazzie, 2011

Organized by Melanie Yazzie, the three volume collection was gifted to the C.N. Gorman Museum by the artist collective in 2007.
