Biography
Tyrone (Ty) Duwyenie Hopi Pueblo/Hualapai, Ty started carving katsinas around 1978, he is also a performing artist, singer and musician. Ty lives in Scottsdale, AZ and is the grandson of Thomas and Belle Kuyiyesva Andrew Duwyenie and Sarah Duwyenie; son of Winston Duwyenie; bother of Starley Duwyenie. Ty learned his carving from his father. Ty won 1st in 1978 at Heard show, Phoenix, AZ. His favorite figures are the White Buffalo Dancer, Ogre Katsina and the Antelope Katsina.
