Biography
PLEASANT POINT, SIPAYIK, PERRY – Theresa May (Neptune) Gardner, 69, passed away Jan. 30, 2004, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the daughter of the late Elizabeth Lewey and Jerome Neptune. She was an active member of the Maine Basket Alliance for several years and took great pride in her contribution to the preservation of the art of Native American Basket Making. In Nov. of 1995, she was awarded an Individual Artist Fellowship from the Maine Arts Commission for her handiwork in traditional fancy basket making.
