Russell Shack carves black marble and pipestone snakes, lizards, and owls using sgraffito style techniques to finish his appealing carvings. Both Russsell and his sister Roselle carve moderately priced marble fetishes. Russell has carved for many years. Russell taught his friend, Jonathan Natewa, the technique of sgraffito, which he applies to his turtles and bears.
