Melissa's carvings are lightly sculptural - she typically carves smaller animals caught in a turning pose, which gives them a gentle flow and rhythm. Melissa Quam is an abstract carver born January of 1969 to a family with many carvers; notably her sister Abby Quam. Both Abby & Melissa learned to carve from their older brother Gabriel Quam.
