Memo / Artist Statement
A contemporary Navajo weaving attributed to Mary Lee. The weaving is unusual as the background and part of the border are woven with natural hand spun wool. The birds are also woven with hand spun wool but are largely colored with aniline dyes. Another interesting part of the design is the fence at the bottom of the weaving that the birds are resting on.
