Memo / Artist Statement
Memorial painting for Bud Mintz, the artist's mentor. Don Yeomans is a graduate of Langara, where the image was changed and used in publication. In the artist words: "Probably the most significant event of my college experience was meeting Bud Mintz, most instrumental in encouraging the development of my career as an artist." According to legend, Raven was responsible for the gift of light to mankind, which he achieved by assuming a human body and tricking its owners into giving him possession. This print pays tribute to Raven for his gift. During this creation of this print Don had in mind his late friend, Bud Mintz, who as well as being his teacher, was an adoptive member of the Killer Whale family in Skidigate. Thanks to Bud, Don experienced firsthand how a teacher with the fits of knowledge and love can forever change a student's life."

This piece is the original painting, and is not a print. Feature in Langara College publication in collection file.
