Memo / Artist Statement
The Hon (Bear) katsina is of such great strength that it is felt he can cure the sick. He may appear in a number of colors such as Köcha Honau (White Bear). Bear katsinas appear most often in the Soyohim or Mixed Dances of springtime or occasionally as side dancers for the Chakwaina Katsinas. (Wright, B., 1977:102)
