A native Santa Fean, D.L. Valdes' images reflect rich cultural and natural beauty from his homeland, as well as a deep sensitivity for the planet and its inhabitants. In his own words, "We need to restore a balance between ourselves and the Earth." Valdes' unique style is achieved through the media of scratchboard. Intricate scenes are carefully etched until white clay appears through the watercolor ink."

Biography
Daniel "Raven" L. Valdes (Sep 24, 1945-Aug 21, 2011) was a well known artist in Santa Fe. He owned Father Sky Mother Earth Gallery, which was in business for 35 years. He was a strong presence in the community. He loved to play the flute, dance, laugh, and be with his Grandsons. He loved nature, and all things in it. He was very active in the community donating his time and flute playing for fund raisers.
