Bill Reid, Killer Whale Spirit

An embossed version of an original Bill Reid bronze sculpture graces this year's calendar. This multi-level image was created by a team of highly skilled craftspeople who hand engraved a solid bar of brass, recreating the original sculpture in reverse. The resulting brass die was used to emboss the image onto 100% cotton rag paper using 300 tons of pressure at a temperature of 240 degrees F. hundreds of hours were devoted to creating this unique work of art. After the 3,200 limited edition, calendars were made and numbered. All the dies were destroyed."
