Biography
Alvina L. Garcia was born in 1943 and has been making pottery since 1974. She was taught by her mother Virginia Lovato and her grandmother Santana Moquino. She gathers clay from the Kewa (Santo Domingo Pueblo), uses all-natural paints and fires her pottery outdoors. She receives help from her daughter Melinda Garcia and her son in law Irvin Lucero. Her other daughter Frances Lucero is also a potter now living in Jemez.
